Chris Scorpion 260

1985 Chris Scorpion 260 with small blocks Chevy's and Alphas, boat actually measures about 29 feet or so and is pretty big for a 26 footer. I have had it for about 3 years and have continually improved on it since day one. when i got it it had one fresh motor and I replaced the other one after the first summer i had it (one has about 150hrs and the other about 200hrs). when I did that motor I also put on aluminum intakes, rebuilt trim pumps, put on stainless risers and silent choice. boat runs really well and the best speed I have seen so far has been 60.9mph. cruises pretty effortlessly at 50 all day long. i also had the cockpit interior re-done when I first got it and it is still in very good shape. the cabin interior is original but in good shape as well. some other improvements I have made are paint, new rigid vinyl rub rail, Gaffrig shifters, new Teleflex Extreme control cables, up-dated the shift cut-out switches to the new style, new drive seals and bellows, also added Hummingbird Matrix fish finder/gps. the boat sits on a steel trailer that was made by a local welder/fab guy and is also in great shape. i restored that as well with new fenders, bearings, lighting, tires, paint , etc . . . this boat has served me very well since i have owned it and I hate to see it go but I am in the middle of a deal on a 38 Scarab so its time to move up.

a few things to note

  • canvas could stand to be re-done
  • boat does have some stress cracks on deck here and there
  • tie bar is mild steel would be nicer to have stainless
  • lid to pump out head has a crack in it (I've never used it though)
  • carpet in footwell is not glued down, stringers can easily be inspected.
  • GPS shown on dash goes with boat so does stereo (Kenwood)
